Default A question re: unit graphics; any help?

    Hey all,

Just finishing my work on my new mod, and I had a few questions:

I want to change some graphics. I have Shoguns BIF reader, which obviously has some editting abilities.

I was wondering, if I want to change the color of an outfit of a unit, is this the correct procedure?

    1) Open high res version of original graphic using Shoguns BIF reader.

    2) By hand, recolor all of the jacket using one of the colors from the palate in each of the 12 frames. (Question: about the poses that dont change, is there a way to cut and paste them, or will this cause more headaches than it is worth and I should just do it the slow way?)

    3) Thats it.

Is there something that I am missing here, or any tips or tricks anyone can share? I read Duke Johns various guides, and it seems I get it... but is this BIF viewer what I should be using, or will it cause crashes? I own NO programs for painting graphics, so...

Okay gents, if anyone can help it would be VASTLY appreciated.

    S!

    Hi Ashram,

I think the only way to do that correctly is in Photoshop because, you need to generate mipmaps and save it as an dds file,

but am not shure, anyhow there are some usefull tutorials at this site elsewhere.
