My initial thoughts for the time frame of this to be approx 1337 (ish) to 1485.
This time frame would allow for a wider game playing arena, which would allow for move factions and events.
This would not just keep us to the 100 years war scenario.
It could include
The flemish rebellion
England and Scotland border conflicts
England and France (HYW)
Brittany civil war
Spain takes part in the 100 years war
Burgundy enters the 100 years war
The Burgundian Swiss war
The Italian wars
The War of the roses
etc.....
any comments would be welcomed

If the map includes the Western Isles/Outer Hebrides, then you could have the Scottish "annexation" of the Lordship of the Isles
