I'm not aware of any legal way to see the new Doctor Who in the U.S.A., so I've been forced to use other means. (Rhymes with eMule.)

I grew up on Tom Baker, so no fella in a leather coat is ever going to be my Doctor. But I think he's doing all right. I don't know about you guys, but Doctor Who was a childhood thing for me, so I don't really feel competent to judge the new one. I'm not twelve anymore. It's sort of like trying to re-read Tarzan or the John Carter of Mars books -- doesn't work if you're past a certain age.

Yeah, probably why I feel some of the shows are dreadful rather than full of dread.

    Yeah, It was good.

I liked the bit where Cap'n Jack pulled a small laser out of his backside.

Who do you think the bad guy is. On the trailer there was a voice that said "they survived in/though me."

I think it is the Emperor Dalek, Davoros, that Dalek that "killed" its self or maybe it is the TARDIS gone bad.

Got to be the Master surely? Only another Time Lord could help daleks survive a time war?

I like the way the series intially felt like a collection of episodes but it is sort of being linked together. Though rather than having all this time war business resolved i guess we are going to be left with a humongous cliff hanger which will be a bit annoying. But, alas, I am now with SA's post above: there is a bit too much running about with guns and fancying the assistant to feel like "real" Dr Who. This is especially bad since with the Captain Jack character (who I think is good) there is someone else who can do all that if its really necessary for the plot. "Real" Dr Who has a sense of humour (whether he knows it or not), he is a bit of a dillitante looking for fun, though he can be relied on to be on the side of the good guys. Ecclestone Dr Who is a Time Lord on a mission. Threatening daleks is naff.

Got to love Russell Davies though, who else could take the mick out of a shedload of bad TV shows and get a bisexual character onto Dr Who (and no one minds)

The last episode was very good, if a bit odd.

So Rose was the Bad Wolf. But why was she called the Bad Wolf?
