I find it interesting all the different names for headbangers in different areas.

Where I grew up (Ontario), we were called metalheads or simply freaks (as distinguished from hippies, who were called 'Peace freaks'). In other parts of the province, we were called skids or headbangers. Any other ones I'm missing?

Mophead and hair farmer, but those aren't necessarily metalheads.

I'm rocking on Bach again, it's what I often do when I'm woiking the boards.

When I got completely fed up with all radio music (maybe 16 years old or so?) Bach, Chopin and Tchaikovsky got me through a few years.

Recently I discovered Burzum, but I usually don't listen to much metal. Can anyone recommend anything similar to them?

I've tried doing some research on black metal sites, but the reviews are all very pretentious and are way too superfluous in their descriptions to help the laywoman decide what else to try.

Death metal's way too aggressive for me, but I like the corny 'graveyard' ambience of some of this black metal I've heard. It's nice 'stare at the ceiling for a few hours and think about non-sense' music.

P.S. Adrian, Debussy is just what the doctor ordered.

Personally, I hate Burzum, but if it's because you want the 'dungeon music' feel, Mortiis' album The Stargate should be up your alley. It's not metal, of course, but arguably, neither is Burzum.

Not to be immodest, but it seems I'm the biggest metalhead (regional slang) here. Is there anyone else here who's into extreme metal?
