Help please!

Hi all.
I having problems with playing the game lately i need some help this is what it says.
Cannot initialise 3d audio; that's when i try to play.
When I try to uninstall to reinstall it doesn't it stop in the middle of it.
When I just install again it has an error 1603.

I had played this game for about a month.
I downloaded the mods and i think i screwed it up...
If anyone can help me it will be a apreciated.

You've got yourself a huge mess now. Most mods have no way to uninstall themselves, and RTW only allows you to install the game once. The standard RTW uninstall might not be able to uninstall a mod. You'll have to delete your game folder and edit your registry to remove the RTW key. I think the answers on how to do this are in the apothecary forum.

In the future, always copy your standard RTW install to a new folder and apply the mod to the copy. Then you can delete the whole copy when you don't want the mod anymore, and you still have your standard RTW installed. You'll need as many copies as mods that you want to try. Each copy requires about 2 GB of disk space.

If the sound device is being used by another program, you'll get an error when the game tries to initialize the sound, but I don't know what actually caused your original problem.

darn still hasn't finished downloading without that error at the end. i think it's the register key anyone know how to edit it?

an advice from a brother in the same problem DON'T TRY TO EDIT THE REGISTRY WITH YOUR SELF you can do that with a free program ( registry cleaner ) from www.download.com and any one will do the task .

Yes that's good advice not to edit the registry manually unless you know exactly what you are doing. I haven't used that registry cleaner program since I never had this problem myself, but I think it's safe to use it.
