    Default Concerning Ladders

Is there something I'm missing concerning the use of ladders during a siege? I built four of them for my last siege, but when the battle started I could only get two of them to attack the walls - and not without a lot of effort. The other two ladder teams refused to even approach the wall, and instead kind of wandered around like they were lost. No amount of right clicking would change this. Am I doing something wrong?

They need a certain amount of space to set up. Did you place them far apart? To be honest, I don't really know, I much prefer to wait out sieges.

I find it hilarious how many men are on the ladders at once. Unless it's steel, they would buckle under that kind of weight. Ladders breaking because of too many over-zealous soldiers was a huge problem during sieges (especially when there was no wood around and rope ladders had to be used).

If you look at city walls from an angle, you'll see the wall divided into sections. Only one ladder is allowed per section, and you can't put ladders up at a tower, so you have to spread them far apart.

Only one ladder per section of wall, got it. Thanks I was trying to send two ladder companies up one section of wall...heh.. well, it looked perfectly reasonable.

Someone really should do something about that. The size of the mandatory division is ridiculous.
