Not everyone in a city gets the plague immediately. Some leaders my not contract it on the first turn it appears. Take those out to the countryside and build a fort for them where they will remain safe.

I find it's better to move infected characters out into the countryside as well, as they tend to hang onto the plague far longer than a city otherwise would, and can keep the plague going for 5+ years.Originally Posted by Nelson
