Now to answer a question that has been bugging me all my life:

How much kg is a pound?

And for that matter: how much kg is a stone?

And I'm not particularly light but fit. Even though I got to lose some winter fat that I didn't sleep off.

My friend, you're the epitome of fitness Where shall we arrange a bleep test and cross country along with rugby training?

Or better yet, a nacho eating contest...I have never won one against anyone in my class and against you I think that trend may continue

So which convinience store makes you shorter?

So how long ago was that? Yesterday? My best is yet to come (I am 14, so if I don't have any major accidents I have a lot of space to improve) and what is a deadlift?

Why would they want you for the 1500m? I got the idea from a previous post you're not the next Paula Radcliffe

110 yds is about 100m, you may speed up in the middle to flat out (most peopledon't apart from sprinters, real sprinters in my experiance) so I'd give you a time of around 12.8-9 seconds? that's slower than a boy in my class...British superiority!

they want me for both actually
why Jav? I'd always thought of that as a non brute force sport as I am quite good at it...you may have got the point I weigh very little and despite being able to bench my weight etc, I am not going to be challenging for Shotput anytime soon, I am 3rd best in my year at Javelin which is plain weird...I like it

Before you were a twinkle in your father's eye

Deadlift is where you grab hold of the barbell from the floor and stand upright with it. It is one of the three powerlifts

Why? I swear they're about the same...I can do much more on the leg press though, it depends...our school has really low limits on the machines I mean only 85kg on the squat? I can do like 3x30 of that and i am not particularly strong

Most people do, which is why they do not reach their potential. The leg press machine appears to be a safer bet but it is a machine and therefore is set to work in a particular way. We are all different, our skeletal structures and leverages are unique, so whereas the press machine feels 'safe', it may not be suited to your leverages. In fact it could be potentially dangerous.

The Squat is THE exercise when it comes to both strength and muscle building. No exercise will match it. But with a huge barbell across our shoulders we fear not being able to complete the rep. I can offer two suggestions that will overcome this.

A sensible training partner to spot your exercises ( remember the Bench press is equally dangerous )

Perform your Squats in a Power Rack. Should you be unable to ascend from bottom position there is no danger because bars are set to your lowest point and these will take the weight of the barbell. You can walk away in complete safety. The Power Rack is invaluable if circumstances dictate that you train alone.
Above all free weights are far more beneficial than any machine because you must use muscles to stabilise the exercise and your body will move according to your leverages.

You have never trained unless you have tried the Twenty Rep Breathing Squat Routine

I dunno, I do mine on a machine as well as a cage thing because I can't actually life 85kg...seriously, I can squat it but have no chance of lifting it

Been there done that with a rack and an 80kg barbell...it's a miracle I survived

Thats about right. I have to add that machines are better for isolation exercises, such as one leg at a time, on your toes, etc... I usually squat about 80 kg and then get on the machine and do sets of 45kg each leg separately as when you squal you are always using one leg more than the other and want to level them up.
