What is the purpose of that " buddy list "?

You can just add people you PM much. It's easy to send PM to a buddy, because you are sure about his user name.

In case you don't know much about the PM system here yet: If you add someone to the buddy list, and later go to 'send a new PM' the buddy list is there too, you can easily select one of your buddies and set him on the 'receivers' list.

This is my first and only forum, and when I was a junior member, I didn't understand anything about PM's, editing, quoting, writing like this, avatars, membership and so on.

How do you find out how many PM's you've sent? I estimate I've sent about 30.

you can see it under the red/green/yellow thing (that says how full your box is) i've sent 34

This is where the red/yellow/green line should be

Underneath "Jump to folder:" It's a drop-down menu, with Inbox and Sent Items.

Inbox (2 Messages) Sent Items (2 Messages)
You have 34 confirmed and 1 unconfirmed private message receipts.

and then look there and there you can count your posts

It's also worth noting that if somebody is your buddy a + symbol will appear next to their name in the 'Who's online' box on the main page of The Guild. This makes seeing if your buddies are online much easier.
