Are those flaming piggies of any use?

They are pretty amazing against elephants, I'll give you that. Nice demoralising effect, but like elephants they may just decide to reverse direction and demoralise your own troops.

Yep, as pezhetairoi said it, have you ever try to use them from the enemy rear? I will try that later by bring them from the far right or left of the battle map. And it is fun to watch them burn. burn piggies burn.

I had some rare attempts to use them in battles against ordinary troops , but I didn't have any significant effect.
no, not ordinaries. They spook elephants best. Using them against others is not, perhaps, so useful.

When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
Cry havoc and let slip the HOGS of war
Anytime I got to conquer Carthage or parthia or Seleucia I always have at least 2 pigs in my armies. Just for safety and because they rout elephants like nothing else. And if there happen to be no elephants in the army they are still fun to use and regenerate so you may as well use them every battle like dogs.
I always am nice to my troops, after a battle, they not only get the women lol.... not funny, but in prebattle speechs, they've mentioned that before lol!
But they also get a nice hot meal of bacon, pork chops, ham's, & pork roasts! So basically, you live though the battle for a city, you get women & a feast!
Sadley its the way it was back then with the women, & still is today with some countries. : ' (
well...oops, I guess. XD

Nah, they suck and are hard to insert in the right place at the right time. However, it's fun to use them and yell "cry havoc, and let out the hogs of war" to yourself.

nice sig... I was referring to that Shakespeare quote... Maybe I got it wrong, perhaps it's let "let slip" instead of "let out"?Originally Posted by oaty

The correct saying is cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.
Cry havoc and let slip the HOGS of war
