Many members here will agree with you that the AI acts arthritic and indecisive in the tactical context. I, for one, take that with a grain of salt. No computer program is going to be up to snuff against a competent human player. The AI usually comes straight at you, and its infantry line often does break up into individual units or small groups. From what I have been able to observe, the AI-controlled infantry units will break off from their initial objectives and turn on a missile unit when attacked. This does disrupt the AI's lines and makes them easy to flank. The AI does a better job with cavalry and missile troops, however, so beware when you are fightings the Macedonians or Egyptians, for example. At any rate, I would imagine that so long as you are playing on E/E, you are going to have a fairly easy time of it. Ratchet up your game's difficulty setting for a more challenging time. Enjoy!
