Default So long, and thanks for all the fish...

Alas, it is close to the time for me to depart from the Org. I have signed the re-enlistment contract with the Army, and I ship out in 8 days (May 26th), so after that time, you will not see me online for another 14+ weeks. Until that time, however, I remain your loyal Colisseum AM.

If anyone wishes to PM me their congratulations or pity or whatever, feel free to.

And now, I leave you with my immortality... the Geisha Sad emoticon I edited up for Tosa using the other Geisha icons.

Signed up with the Army?! What is this - War: Total Realism??

Quips aside: we'll miss you Kekvit - I've enjoyed your no-nonsense style, and you got me looking at DBM - trust you'll eventually return to the world of make-believe soldiers!

Naturally. I'm a gamer at heart. Once I finish basic training and AIT, I'll devote a lot of lost time to gaming once I'm on leave.

DBM is an interesting game, but I've never got into it. Nor DBN (for naval battles). I'm mostly just DBA. I once developed variant rules for allowing one unit in an army to have a unique ability, ala Age of Empires II: Age of Kings. IE: English Longbows (Bowmen) can fire an additional 100m, Norsemen Vikings (warbands) are +4 against base camp defenders, and Saxon Huscarls (blades) are an additional +1 against Bowmen. Things like that to spice things up.

Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Proud

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

Hey kek, there's nothing like real military experience to make you look at the war games we play in a different light. I haven't known you for long, but you have -tone-, and I like it. You take care of yourself, and I want to see green 'kekvitiraes' appearing beside posts every now and then again.

If I wasnt going into the Army so soon, I would most likely be aiming for moderatorship. But personally, it's not that big of a deal. When I see a problem, a stern, yet professional, warning in the thread will more often than not solve the problem. For larger infractions that require edits or deletes, a simple private message to Catiline or Nelson is all that is needed.
Really, the job description I give myself is "move RTR threads to the RTW General Modification forum" since there's very little in the way of verbal abuse or anything in here. I like it like that.

Beware! Real life can be dangerous, I heard. And do nothing I would not do

Looking forward to hear from you again!

Thank you. I'm sure there are quite a few Iraq veterans at this forum, myself included.

Good luck, Kek. For the most part, you've been quite sporting. And remember...

"It makes no difference what men think of war. War endures. As well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him, the ultimate trade awaiting the ultimate practitioner."
