    Default Mongol horde

I need some primary sources (preferably quotes, though anything will do) about what the Mongols did to conquered populations.

    Mongols and Crualty (sic)

A great deal of us discussed this at length not too long ago.

The best primary source is undoubtedly The Secret History of the Mongols, written by a courtier at Qubilai Khan's court in the 13th century. It's surprisingly unbiased and accurate for the time.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

The Secret History is as good a place to start as any, as Wiz has stated it is unbiased.
I would also recommend you try to read 'Qaidu and the rise of the Independent Mongol State in Central Asia' by Michal Biran. This book is extremely informative and covers many subjects overlooked by others.
