I have never played medieval, but as an avid STW player I think that game would rock if it was redone. Think about the samurai and ninja's hacking each other apart.

I think M:TW 3D would rule as well, however, it would be nice if they added more factions and such to give a more varied/differant experience.
BTW I don't know if you are aware but total war refers to the style of warfare used by Sherman in the American Civil War. He burned cities and destroyed everything, thus total war. not just war on the military but war on the very foundations of an enemy's society and industry.

MTW would be great with a RTW sort of map and tactics. I am a great fan of the hold and strike from behind move, yet that did not realy seem to work in MTW. So whilst I played battles personally always in RTW, I often used the auto-resolve in MTW.

It may be just me, but I think RTW is an easier game. My casuality rate is a lot higher in MTW, while in RTW I can manage to win large battles with minimum dead among my own. This is much harder in MTW.
xemitg suggested a remake of STW, I really like that idea too. Imagine those samurais in 3D chopping at each other, recreating the bloodbaths of feudal Japan in all it's gory splendour. But we're already asking too much.

And yet it is impossible. As much as many of you may want MTW 3D it will never be more than a pipe dream.

After Getting Rome total war I don’t like Medieval total war anymore. The music is slightly better in Rome (it keeps on playing unlike Medieval) and so are the fights. I like the new strategy map too. But the Mediaeval setting in Medieval total war is cool though. Yeah a Mediaeval Total war game on the Rome total war engine would rule, more than Rome too if they changed nothing but the setting (all right, maybe this siege bug I keep hearing about).
There's no such thing as a lootenant.
