I used to play sphynx adventures on the amiga.
    or was it acorn?
It was really fun but unfortunatly its really old, And you just cant find it any more

    go north,

You see a clearing to the west is a path
In front of you is an angry troll,
there is a path to the south
to the east is a forest.

    Hit troll.

    You hit the angry troll.
He is not happy and attacks you,
    GAME OVER.

    P.s
It also had like 2 colour images,
    Mostly blue and gray

Those get addictive because it makes you want to find out what different things you can do. I stopped playing them years ago for that reason.

see the MudConnector (if you don't already know it), it lists a few thousand muds.
Used to play big time, played almost daily for 3 years. Since it kinda interfered with school, and I couldn't convince parents and such that I'd be better off without school, I had to stop playing ;)

They're absolutely great, from all points of view. Imho, there's way more interaction between people than in any other graphic game I've seen or heard of (GW, WOW, D2, etc). Are they addictive ? You bet your bubbly butt they are ! Would I still be playing if I had the time ? Hell yeah !
Therapy helps, but screaming obscenities is cheaper.
