Thread: Editor must and shall die.

    I don't believe this. I workign for 4 hours on this map. Working on TutMap2. I changed the textures to make trees go away. Saved, and maked the land as l liked... saved. I m making a map called Germania ala Gladiator if you have seen the film. I added the right textures for the trees, textures 6,7 and even 5 to smooth things up... it worked. All were workign. The last stage was to add some other textures for the level difference to leave. i started adding texture 4 and while finishing a few more hits og the - button made a texture trasparent. I didn't see it and saved.. when i started it on the full game one texture was missing
    Also turing the textures was a pain near the woods cause you couldn't see where the texture was facing
    Will try again and whoever tries to make the map before me must and shall die.

    hehe, welcome to my world of the mad editor.
    um, not sure exactly what yer saying there. some of your sentences dont make much sense to me, but i think i get the gist. read the docs that tosa and i have compiled in this forum. there is help editing textures more rapidly so that you can see which way the textures are facing.

    also, i'm not familiar with the - key turning textures transparent but i'll take a look at it.

    and yes, this thread belongs in the editing thread.

    I wasn't turning the texture. I pressed the - button a bit more times on one of last textures and it was gone. You could see the water below it.

    Hello theforce,

    Only use texture ID's 1-126, and never go below 0 or over 126, it will mess the map! (It will start the 0-127 ID# cycle again, but it are not the same textures!).

    The other textures are not properly supported by the demo.

    theforce,

    the - key lowers the texture number and like tosa said, you dont want to use textures above 127. they are all blanks. the + and - keys cycle the textures from 0 to 255. as you hit 128 though, it starts counting over again at 1 and goes to 127 again but these are all blanks. likewise if you go below 0 it goes to 127 thru the blank set of textures. yes, it's a weird editor ;)

    we dont currently know what this blank set is for, if for anything. have i mentioned lately that we'd like some docs from Creative?
