Thread: Themiskyra and the Amazons

    Default Themiskyra and the Amazons

Discovering the city of the Amazons is no great feat I know that, but how do you go about reaching the city? I've tried to reach Themiskyra but I can't seem to find my way past the bloody river, yet I've heard tales of others who conquered this city? How do I get past the river?

Where exactly? All I can see is forest... Is there maybe a certain time for when I can attack Themiskyra?

You start in Locus Gepidae. That is where you can find the way between the river and the forrest.

Get to the left of the river, and then keep going up, until you reach Themiskrya. It takes forever though (it took me ten years), and once you're in the forest, you'll be ambushed.

That is always a fun battle against them. If I have spare armies and happen to be in the nearby area i like to attack them just for fun. It's always a cool battle and quite a prize town, at least to me it is, a city of gorgeous women. Once for fun I made it capital so that all my family was brought up there (no patch)

Otto - They call them fingers, but I've never seen them fing...Oh there they go

Rebels can train additional chariots by having a blacksmith.

The trouble is bringing them out to a useful spot. They take a loooong time walking through the maxe of forests.

I approached from the southwest, where there's a corridor through the forest that leads to a river ford west of town. Got ambushed at the ford, they crossed first to get at me and I routed 'em while they were in the water. Occupied the town but they came back next turn and kicked me out. I didn't have enough forces to retake it, so there it sits in splendid rebellious isolation (for now...).

Call me stupid, but I didn't even know that they had chariots untill I sent a small army to take the town. My army was a merc. army that had 4 groups of Illyarians, 2 Thracian mercs, 1 barbarian merc. I was ambushed right after the river crossing. The terrain had one tall cliff in the middle so I rushed my units up it and lone behold, a good sized army of charriots was charging up at me. I'm all like wtfbbq...I was supposed to be hacking up town militia and pesants! Anyways, it was a very fun fight that I only won because of the rain of javilins from the Illyarians. I used my other infantry as meat sheilds while my Illyarians finished them off.

I was very supriesed at the whole ordeal. I was considering letting it stay rebel but the had killed many of my men and I was angry. I took the town and killed them all

I have only scouted the town, but never attempted to take it. To far away to be of any use. But after reading ya'lls experiences - sounds fun. Thanks.
