I wonder if it's possible to fix the walls it towns. So you can destroy the hole wall, and not as it is know*only sections*??

I doubt it. That would be hardcored into the RTW engine.

From what little I know, it might be possible by editing the models and animations so that the wall-destroyed model just has a pile of rubble, but I'm not sure. In any case, I don't think it's a priority for anyone right now.

On the other hand you would have to ask yourself, if an entire set of walls would actually be destroyed in a single battle...

Well, making a hole in the wall and trying to squeeze through is pretty much what happened usually... if you don't believe, see "Kingdom of Heaven" ;) And anyway, that won't solve the pathfinding problems with the wall, so no point doing it, really.

not a priority if you ask me.
i would prefer to see no bigger walls than the standard stone walls, the epic and large walls are just rediculously huge!

Even more of a priority would be to give "barbarians" oppidum-like walls.

Well, yes. Though there are various types of "Barbarian" walls, the Oppidum was very a typical of Gallic tribes and Belgae. Also not all Oppidums were built in the same fashion, but they looked something like this...

    ...a maquette of a gate...

...and the Peninsular (as in, Iberian) version, the castro...

Oh, and btw, I agree. Those large walls, and especialy the epic, look like something out of Lord of The Rings, which is not a necessarily a bad thing, if you are in that sort of universe.

There should be at least two types of stone walls. Not all defences of walled cities were equal or of equal height. Perhaps further upgrades could just increase the number and quality of towers.

i would say of just the tower defenses. keep it all simple, i think it would be a lot more work to increase the amount of towers.

that sounds good. they should improve denfences, the time between oil drops (at the gates) and structural strength (HP) of the walls/towers but NOT hight (not by that much anyway, at most by 2m i'm guessing)

But ROme had enormous walls built around it after it was sacked by the gaul, carthage had walls twice the size of many citites although i must admit huge walls are riddiculous, especialy wiht the cities being that small.

Don't remind me that sh1t. The only epic things there were the walls, Pitt's acrobatics and Hellena.

But I don't get why they had to clean their arse with Homer.

What i ment with this tread was that..I dont realise why you cant destroy the gates and some other sections of the walls*So my question is why is it so hard to fix that???Thats a little strange..

you can destroy every sgement of teh wall, only it wont come crashing down and open a hole.
and historically, walls didnt collapse completely. mostly it were holes, and not even that big. atleast not with battering rams. to make a wall come crashign down completely, you'll be busy all years. not teh mention the crearing of teh rubble.

ancients walls were suprisingly good. they were boxe shaped (greeks, persians and romans) and empty inside, this boxe shaped wall will give good strength, were it not they threw the 'hole' full with rubble, earth and sand. that debris will absorb many hits ass well. so making a wall come crahsing down wasnt that easy. towers were even worse.

Well if you can tdemolish the walls completely can you atleast make seige engines go throuhg gates or breaches because it renders ballistas madn stuff like that almost useless in seiges as tehy cannot get through teh walls ino teh cities allowng for use later in teh battle.

Wooden Walls are a joke, they really do ned to have small catwalks on them walls to make them more useful then a palaside (sp?). They also need to have those small archer towers at the gates to actually do something.

well, ballistas and scorpion are mostly (if not completly) open filed artillery. so its is correct if they are useless.
it woudl be functional for a player to get wall crashing down like that, but its not realistic. imagine the rubble that need to be cleared...
