Thanks R'as - will grab the extra files now.
I think I'm going to have to attack the Satake soon, they keep looking at me in a particularly vile shade of green

I've just cut'n'pasted the "BUGS" post along with the zip so I'll be okay I guess. I know my way round the MTW directory structure after fiddling with a few mods
The campaign is looking good so far. Economy is in fair shape, expanded to four provinces in a few years and "spare hero slot" is turning into quite a cool general
There's nothing to compare to the feel of the first battle in a new mod. Obviously the Date got it in the neck on the second turn, and were eliminated on the third. Kozuke was empty so I just walked in, and the Satomi rather carelessly left a low-loyalty stack guarding Musashi.
Is it common to have VAST numbers of mercenaries queueing up to be hired (or is it something I'm doing in campaign?)
If you're still looking for bugs I'll try to keep a note of anything for you, but it's all running smoothly so far.

Cool that you figured it out. After my initial post #39 with the first bug, JuanT posted one or two others. Be sure that you fix them all.
Since you're an sp campaign player, I'd be interested in your observations on army production.
There's this new era, smap_6, which iirc contains some triggers I was about to test. Also, the era starts with almost no units. The AI should then build some pretty balanced armies.....
The amount of mercenaries can be adjusted. We'll do that.
If you have the time, please provide as much fedback on the campaign as possible.

model pack has been sent for testing
once i have Yuuki's, R'as's and Tomi's feedback i will fix it up and release it for all to have a look
meanwhile here is some of what is now in it
ashigaru/coastal village
a samurai town/village
some of the eye candy
those gates in the background are eye candy only - shogun gates dont work in MTW,
but we have working gates - i rekinned some medieval ones and they look great and work fine

Man, this mod makes me really hate the fact that my MTW-cd's are wrecked. Full 3d-models and expanded campaign-game in all honour, but those sprite units and the old map has a certain charm that will never get old. Add that to a more functional AI and the choice to mod MTW is still a valid one.
Great work on the structures and the banners. Personally I would prefer red for the Takeda, but since I will probably never play this mod...
lol

You guys have done it somehow. The bars that come up from castles and unit pieces showing how many units are there, well when me and Cegorach tried to add new pieces they ended up constantly appearing to be full, even when there is only one unit in there, like so:
Please tell us how you guys got round it, I'd be eternally grateful!
Hello BKB,Originally Posted by The Blind King of Bohemia

One thing though, in your screenshot it looks as if the castles of Brandenburg, Pommerania and Bohemia show up allright?
Looks to me as if your problem is restricted to the unit pieces.
However, the .bif files you need to change are in campmap/pieces. I'm sure you know that.
The files, like army_awaiting etc. need certain colour values on the flag.
For units it's a greyscale value of 240/240/240. (R/G/B)
The castle-flags need to be red, ours are in the range of 216-232 (red). The range is due to shading. Green and blue are set to zero.
I've to say that barocca figured this out and I can only give you my (educated) guess on this. I did check the values, though.

Sorry that pics from Cegorach's mod where he hasn't changed the castles, so they're okay. Thank you very much for the tip, I'll try it out and if it works eternal thanks to all!
Hey mate I tried changing the red flag behind the units to the all 240 colour you suggested but still no luck, it just turns up as that new colour on the map. Do you have any idea where I could be going wrong?
It's strange.
I've checked the original files of M:TW and Shogun and those of Nap mod.
In the original version and in nap mod the flags are red while in Shogun and in our mod they are grey. The bifs we use in our mod are directly imported from Shogun.
Looking at Shogun one realises that grey is used as a faction colour on different occasions, like the campmap pieces and the flags and sashimonos.
In Medieval they have changed the faction colours to green and pink but the flags of the campmap pieces are red.
The nap mod also uses red flags.
So, it appears that the red flag is the one Medieval uses, but the grey flags are also recognised as faction colour!?
Perhaps there's a remnant piece of Shogun code that recognises the grey colour as valid?
However, I'd suggest to try the red values instead as they seem to be the "official" Medieval colours.
Since you already tried those I'm a bit at a loss here.
It may be that your bif's colour table isn't correct. Try to load an original colour table for your edited pieces, even if it's not looking that good, just for testing.
I hope barocca can shed some light on this but I assume that he just imported the Shogun ones and they worked out immediatly.

i made a new set of campmap pieces, especially for the rebels,
(and the best way to make them is use an existing set and fiddle with the pallette if you need to, for this set i did not have to work the pallette)

a new faction, and a new culture as well,
here is the artwork for their army and leader campaign map pieces,

i made some new leaders for the monks,
we have found what we think is a better way to make these,
BKB and R'as are just bug testing it now
and the princess (crafted by LordKrazy),
i adjusted her colour depth and gave her a makeover for one of her poses,

In smap5 at least, when you click, grab and and hold on an army piece in the campmap, its flagtop changes and becomes 'individual' (like Shogun) rather than the generic one of the mod. Could we have 'individual' flagtops for generals? this was a nice feature of Shogun and helped with recognising specific generals, heirs etc. on the map.Originally Posted by barocca

Mongol Leaders,
these are based on the original mongol unit bif's and buf's,
with the addition of the dragon in gold,
(does the dragon look ok?)
next up the mongol "army",
slightly harder to decide which way to go with them
but i think the old pagans from MTW will do nicely
back soon

Although a bit of a late comment, I think Barocca is surpassing himself here:)
I wonder how the Mongol campaign will eventually turn out. Although this belongs to another thread, was adding a korean province or two given any thought? Maybe it 'd end being closer to the VI campaign (but with more storms:p), while the goal, I presume, is recreating MI.

Any chance on samurai units you could stick the clan icon as well? Because Mori vs another bunch of people red, can be very confusing
No, I'm sorry. That's not possible although we'd love to do it.Originally Posted by Abokasee
You just have to pick your fights according to colour.
For the new version we've left out a few clans, that sorts out some of the colour problems. Btw, it's not easy to come up with 30 distinct colours that are also easily distinguishable from afar and the game changes the colours slightly. What you design in photoshop does not always equal what you see in the game.
