This looks so amazing, I hate how its likely going to be at least another year until its released. I still remember the initial announcement back in 2012.

I am really liking the better control of your troops. Much more strategic than before, where I would really just charge my men in and that was it.

Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.

Well, it does look good, but German magazine GameStar had a piece about how, given the current progress and the way they tend to rework things over and over, it seems unlikely to arrive in 2019 even and might just come in 2020 or even later.

I'm not even really waiting for it because it's like a ghost that pops up now and then but never really materializes.

To me it looks like the same engine with some minor upgrades.
Not necessarily a bad thing, just don't see why it would be a new engine, it looks very similar to the first game except that everything looks a bit nicer. The textures don't seem all that great though on the world map.

Finally, after 10+ years, Mount & Blade Bannerlord will be available on Steam TO PURCHASE! Finally we can play it.

If it is delayed any longer, they will have to write an emulator into the base design of the game... ;-)

In addition, if you buy in the first two weeks you get 10% off plus anyone who owns any previous Mount & Blade title will be eligible for an additional 10% off in some digital stores (hopefully Steam). I just hope I can run it, apparently my CPU is a bit below what the requirements say.

So I played for a little bit. Mechanically it plays really well. The movements are smooth, combat feels really good. Also tried to start a campaign and it looks really polished. The problem is that my computer can only play it on very low and even then I cant have battles larger than 100 otherwise there is a lot of lag. I think its time for an upgrade! Back to Warband for the time being I guess.

Edit: shout out to Beskar for calling me the Internet Explorer of his Steam friends list for still playing Warband.

That explains why the Steam store had so many issues in the morning. The reviews seem to be good for the most part minus the occasional glitch. Another thing people have pointed out is that combat seems harder but thats probably just a learning curve. For what its worth, for the couple of battles I played the combat didnt seem too different from Warband.
