I could just say that they are a waste of space, and not very good if they're meant to be spam, but i won't say that. I'll give a scientific answer.
I think that they are a good insight into the personal lives and minds of .Org patrons, and are a mine of valuable information for advertisers wondering if they should advertise their products here.

Hmm, this is borderline...if you gents can have an interesting discussion about the merits of the 'RIGHT NOW!' threads, I'll leave this open. If it degenerates into 'Gah! Spam! Gah!' it will be closed.

it wasn't my intent to start a trend with the "right now" caption on the 'what are you listening to' thread. i have no problem with all the new "right now"s, but i'd encourage everyone to use them in moderation. also, try to make sure the context is somewhat proper. i mean, who is your fav org member.. "right now"? does it change that often?
