Thanks Ra's al Ghul, I tried your suggestion but unfortunately when I loaded
the game afterwards, I kept getting screen flashes on the menu pages. Then
when I tried playing a campaign, it would let me start one and pick my family,
but everytime I clicked on the palace icon it would take me to it, then when I
would try exiting, I got a CTD along with an error message from my WinXP
asking if I wanted to send an error report! It wasn't doing this prior to the patch.
I think it was trying to access files from the temp folder I set up initially to
extract the zip file to. I don't know if me having my hard drive partitioned
may have been the cause or not. The temp folder was in my C:/ drive, and
the game folder was in my D:/ drive.
At any rate I figured it would be a good Idea to just uninstall it altogether
and try reinstalling again. I got a feeling, that for as many files that came in the zip file, that it needs to be extracted to a file somewhere within the
program file itself prior to clicking on the setup.exe button. Possibly the path
I mentioned in my earlier post (ie; D:/Program_Files/Total_War/Shogun-Total_War/loc/eng.) I only say this because there is a loc/eng folder in the zip
that contains the read-me text for installing the patch! Your guess is as good
as mine at this point I'm afraid!![]()
I really wish they would have been a bit more precise in thier read-me text,
You know! Explain it in a way that a three year old could understand! Or at
the very least offered an extraction path of where to extract it to! But I
guess that would have made it too easy!![]()
