    Sorry, I understand you've put a lot of work into making that file, but NTW were keeping a smaller campaign map so they could include unique units for the baltic peoples etc. We're not sure we can do that yet.

    Also the NTW unit rooster you've been using has several faults. Pict chariots aren't within the time frame, and the fact that the pictish kingdom ended up under Scottish rule around 843 AD means there are no picts, but rather the kingdom of Alba, which we have chosen to call scots. Sviar longbowmen is a fantasy unit (and if it ever existed it would have been in the 13th century). The Scottish schiltron formation also wasn't invented until Bannockburn or battle of Stirling (under the command of William Wallace), and those battles happened A LOT later.

    doesn't matter, give me new one and i'll put them in.

    say what equipment they have, how big they were, how high there morale was, ect.

    Ok, we're discussing which units should be included in the tech trees thread. The tech trees marked in red are finished, and we can discuss their stats here. I've here copy-pasted the units we've decided upon so far, and am gradually filling in stats. The stats are still only approximate and will probably be subject to changing - increasing or decreasing by one or two somewhere, but that'll be done during the balancing and testing phase when all units are ready. The suggestions below are just suggestions so you can use your system to give them exact stats. I'm just providing details of behavior, and I'm handing over the responsibility to decide exact stats to you.

    USED BY BYZANTINES ONLY:
    * psiloi javelinmen - levy morale, stronger charge than R:TW light troops, low attack, low defense, javelin attack as illyrian mercs in R:TW, medium shield, no armor.
    * psiloi slingers - levy morale, stronger charge than R:TW light troops, low attack, low defense, slinger attack same as for slingers in R:TW, no shield, no armor.
    * psiloi archers - no or leather armor, no shield, missile attack and range as archer warband in R:TW
    * skutatoi archers - chain mail, maybe small shield, missile attack and range as chosen archer warband in R:TW
    * menavlatoi [sword and pilum] - equivalent of praetorian cohorts, large shield, well armored
    * varangian guard [axe] - slightly better than urban cohorts in attack and charge stats, same in defense, large shield, axe, chain mail
    * peltastoi - spear and javelin, no phalanx, meleé stats slightly worse than triarii but better than auxilia, javelin attack same as for psiloi javelinmen, small shield, no armor, levy morale
    * skutatoi - spear, shield, light or no armor, no phalanx, combat stats better same as triarii, medium morale
    * heavy skutatoi - phalanx formation, spear, shield, chain mail, combat stats better than greek hoplites but worse than armored hoplites, pro morale
    * trapetzitoi [light cav, lance, sword] - like macedonian light lancers, levy morale
    * sagittoi [light cav, bow, sword] - levy morale, combat stats like persian cavalry
    * kataphraktoi [shield, lance, sword, not fully covered in armor] - speed etc. like R:TW cataphracts but weaker charge and attack
    * klibanophoroi [lance and mace, no shield, fully covered in armor] - speed etc. like R:TW cataphracts but slightly better defense, and slightly weaker charge and attack

    UNITS AVAILABLE TO MANY FACTIONS:
    These three are just for garrisoning and thus very weak in combat:
    * town watch - no phalanx formation, short spears, no backup weapons, around equivalent to R:TW hastati in combat performance, medium size shield, no armor
    * urban militia - no shield, no armor, axe, better attack than town watch but worse total defense (even though defensive SKILL is better - the lack of shield will cause lower total defense here)
    * urban guard - no shield, chain mail, axe, better attack than urban militia but same total defense, between hastati and principes in fighting skills

    * crossbowmen - same range as chosen archer warband, same missile attack stats, leather or chain mail armor
    * pavise crossbowmen - same range as chosen archer warband, same missile attack, better defense due to very large shield, slow moving, leather or chain mail armor

    * javelinmen - missile attack like illyrian mercenaries, defense and like in R:TW, much stronger charge than skirmisher in R:TW, weaker attack
    * burwaran - short spearmen, almost same stats as fyrdmen but with less cavalry bonus, same attack but better charge and weaker defense
    * militia bowmen - only slightly better than slinger range but worse than archer warband in R:TW, very low missile attack, very low meleé attack and defense, very strong charge, levy morale
    * bowmen - only slightly better than slinger range but worse than archer warband in R:TW and better than the militia bowmen, weak missile attack, very low meleé attack and defense, very strong charge, slightly above levy morale
    * militia archers - same range as archer warband in R:TW, missile attack slightly below that of archer warband in R:TW, very low meleé attack and defense, very strong charge, levy morale
    * archers - range slightly better than archer warband in R:TW, missile attack same as archer warband in R:TW, very low meleé attack and defense, very strong charge, slightly above levy morale

    NOT READY YET:

    feudal sergeants

    royal knights [expensive, elite, small unit size]

    butescarles [almost like huscarles but these are vikings who historically were recruited as mercenaries so perhaps just change color of hair and do some minor adjustments of equipment from saxon hurscarle to obtain these]

    NOT READY YET:
    ballista
    mangonel
    toxoballista - like the R:TW ballista to begin with
    manganika
    spendones
    greek fire siphon projectors [maybe or maybe not to be included in the mod]

    this will be taken care of. one of these day's i'll update the list. i think we agree that the stats are temporary untill we finish our unit layout. also trainingtime upkeep ect will be added later OK
