    Angry Marian reforms

Ok, so um when installing the v1.2 patch, when do the Marian reforms occur ? I am playing long campaign with Scipii and it's already 219 BC. Before installing the patch, the reforms like always occured around 230 BC, when I built an Imperial Palace. But now I already have 4 Huge cities, so what's this about ?

minimum date is 220 BC , you need to have an imperial palace and it must be on the italian peninsula.
it is a random event , sometimes it ocurs 220 or it could happen in 180 ... so It is random , but you do need the things I listed above.

I never had the Marian reforms. I think you need to build an Imperial Palace in your capital city in order for the Marian reforms to occur.

Do Patavium and/or Mediolanium count as being on the Italian peninsula?

Thank you. Do you know how long it takes - on average - for the reforms to trigger after building the imperial palace in one of those cities?

And is there any way (i.e. cheats) to trigger the event manually? I don't like cheating but I'm in the civil war, and the game could soon be over. It's 203bc and I'd like to see what the units are like before the game ends.

well it is rondom, so in 1 romans game you cna get it in say 219 , and in the other romans campaign you get it in 199 , there is no telling when you will get the reforms.
Just make shure you have met the all the requirements , and then just wait.

Prepatch it was moddable , don't think it is now

Thanks. I do have those requirements covered if I understand them correctly: 1. imperial palace on Italian peninsula. 2. Date later than 220 BC.

Historical accuray aside, it's a shame it occurs so late as a lot of people (counting myself out as I'm a newbie and playing on easy) will probably finish earlier and thus have little or no time to tinker with the new units.

Probably right, but since I suspect that game balance is quite a bit harder to change than the reform date, for now I'll stick with my request for the latter.

I use 1.0, and have modded all roman units to be trainable, regardless of reforms, just to see what happens when the Romans have to much choice. I'm guessing they either crash and burn or run over every faction like a train.
