    Talking Your own .org history.

Hello frontroomers! I hope you like this thread.

    *****

The meaning of this thread is to have you post about your experiences at the .org. Try to quote your first post, and tell us about your experiences at the org. Please tell us what the org has given you and what you gave the org.

    here's mine:

    This is my first post:

    I'm new, hello people!
It was about my first Uesugi campaign, it was in this thread

I joined november 2004, just a few weeks after I got my STW WE copy.

My first weeks of the membership I was only in sword dojo learning about STW. I soon found some friends and I got much help with STW.

After about 50 posts, I introduced in the entrance hall and became a full member. I also explored the rest of the .org.

Well, almost 7 months and 1000 posts later, my fav forum is still the sword dojo. I am quite active in frontroom, stw mod. forum, entrance hall now. But ocasionally, you will see me at about all the other forums too.(except MTW forums and the library)

I made a lot of friends at the .org, I never got in a big fight, and I became a respectable STW MP taisho. The org has been great for me and I expect to stay here for a long time.

    That should be it.

    See you guys later!

Well, check when you joined, which month and which year. Then try to think in which forum you was active when you just joined. Look for topics in which you participated and check the forum's page which has it's last posts just after you joining.

For instance, you are an STW-player, and joined jan 2005. look in sword dojo for threads that you've posted in and with the last post in feb 2005.

    Hope you find it out.

This is the first thread I started at the org:

    Crusade is draining my army

The first post in that thread was my second post overall, IIRC (my first post was a minor one).

After lurking some time I joined the org as this turned out to be a very mature and diverse gaming website (and very informative for a new M:TW player as well)

After a short time the Tavern Backroom with was the place that attracted me most and kept me coming regularly to the org. The Tavern is the place were I mostly post but I keep lrking the gaming forums to gather information and tips for the TW games

I did the MTW economics thread talking bout the reliability of trade...

Them I quickly did the MTW condensed economics guide...

I have done absolutely nothing else useful for the community, I have helped people in the past but I don't have enough time to play anymore...so I just backroom and occasionally post and help when I have time to venture out...

My first post Hello, and Thanks Gregoshi gave me the title of Chief Sniffer

After a while I made the suggestion to do away with the old system of membership - Junior Patron/Senior Patron/Junior Member/Senior Member - and create the system we have today (altho to be honest a few others had lots of ideas that led to the current system).

I was elected to be an AM in the MTW MP forums, along with CBR . After Rome came out CBR and I were made AMs in the Rome MP forums, which I helped name the Campus Martius (again based on another members' suggestion, but I helped).

I soon realized that I wasn't interested in RTW MP, and decided to give up being an AM since the MTW MP forums weren't busy. But Kukrikhan asked me to help out in the Spartan forum where I now await the surge of activity that will come with the release of the console title.

The mods in the Backroom warned me once and deleted a post where I made some French jokes, but otherwise I've stayed on the right side of the law.

With Spartan still on the distant horizon and MTW MP limping along I have a lot of free time and frequently find myself getting in fights in the Backroom (or creating Burrito polls). Gah!

My first post was a "Hello All!" in a welcome thread. I can't find it now but the first thread i made was here.

    Fall of the Italian Empire

Even back then I was toying around with writing battle stories . Now look at me AM of the Mead Hall, locked in a dark corner. Wow, it's really been two years . When i discovered the .org i was a little hesitant to post, but the atmosphere here was just amazing. A lot better than most of the internet forums at the time.

I lurked around the EH and MH posting some stories of my own (way before the Mead Hall), not really getting into backroom discussions or that lot. Just talking TW and helping where I could. After a while the influx of battle stories prompted the creation of the Mead Hall, and I was put up in the election to be it's AM. But I lost to Froggy It made no matter to me as i liked the Mead Hall and posted many stories of my own. It became my home on the .org

Though when Froggy got a promotion to full Moderator I was again put into the next election, this time winning. I became the AM of the Mead Hall where I am today.

I think that my first post was about a map modding question, in the RTW modding subforum, although it might have been in the Age of Hellas mod thread, I am not quite sure. I would quote it, except that I don't want to look through every map questions thread in RTW modding, since there are probably 300 in there...

Ahhh... here is my first post, enjoy the map-making confusion!

Anyway, for quite a while I never left the RTW modding forums, except for a quick visit to the entrance hall . Then I went away for a while; when I came back, I plunged into the tavern, creating quite the splash

A short history to chronicle a short (but growing) time at the .org.

You can find my first post in this thread. I found tihs forum soon after I got MTW, and only posted in the games forums for a bit, as I wasn't aware of the Tavern at this point. I then spent a fairly uneventful year and a bit, in which I mastered the OWS and got made a Senior Member at some point-I've never been able to figure out why, to be honest.

Then, about a year ago, the Frontroom was created, and I volunteered for the AM position. I got it, and was very grateful for the oppurtunity. A few months back, when Hosa was indisposed, the Powers That Be decided I had paid my dues, and made me a staff mod.

Other notable events include coming runner up to Soly and MRD in the "Most interesting Tavern personalities" category at last years hall of fame awards, and helping Monk get his five hundred posts in the OWS, which he then wrote a story about. That was pretty cool.

My first post was in the Entrance hall Perhaps a cool unit

My first thread was entittled GNVQ song, made up by my Day of defeat (half life multiplayer mod) clan

    GNVQ song

I posted in the entrance hall and main hall for quite a while before I moved onto The Jousting Fields and the modding subforums as well as the monastery. I then found the frontroom and backroom and started posting in there about a year ago

I don't want to talk about my first hundred posts...put it this way I made a complete arse of myself. *sigh*

I joined the .org when I discovered it via the .com and decided to have a look. I looked and thought it was nice. Then I went to the .com and re-commenced spamming. Then after a month or so I wrote a story that was well appreciated at the .com and someone suggested I go to the .org as they had the 'Mead Hall'. I've never looked back... well I do confine my spamming to the .com which is why my post count is so low here.

Good ol Sword Dojo! Back then your avator used to change depending on your post count, so you started as a Ashiguri (sp?) then work your way through the various Shogun units, until you reached 500 where you could choose your own! Thats probably with a few older members it is still something to be celebrated i guess.

    Use the magic search button.

search for your username and then choose the search period for you I would reccommend year ago and put it to allposts after (something like that) and find the first post you made

    First post:
You guys are wrong about the max battler size in campaign mode. My computer has serious issues when there are over 6000 troops fighting at once, but I was able to play a giant battle where I had four of my max size Seluecid armies fighting against a max size Thracian army that was trying to lift my siege. The armies totalled well over 5000 troops all told and none of my reinforcements were delayed. Needless to say the Thracians were slaughtered, though it did take a long time due to the lag. And yes this was in campaign mode. It was at the city located slightly to the east of Byzantium.

The Org has been great! Got to know about some mods and debate (argue) in the backroom. I joined November 1st 2004.
