It's good to see even our most conservative institutions embracing policies of diversity and tolerance. Well done to the Canadian Military, and best wishes to the happy couple.

I love Canada. I hope one day people look at like they do Holland.

I love not being associated with Canada in the slightest degree.
Except for all of your students who sew Canadian flags to their backpacks when travelling outside of your borders so that members of the opposite sex (or same sex, in some cases I'm sure) will talk to them...Originally Posted by PanzerJager

Then put the guderian quote back because I'm from Canada.Originally Posted by PanzerJager
The quote stays.. its simply too good.
As for the canadian flag sewing.. i wouldnt travel to the few countries where that makes a difference anyway. I find that Americans are embraced with hospitality all over the world if they act in a respectful way, just like any other peoples. In some countries its a bonus aswell, such as Japan.
Weeeeeeell, I'm not that keen on gay marriage, and I'm certainly not that keen on gay soldiers having military marriages...
But I'll take the risk of being too democratic, tolerant and open minded any day over being close minded, bigoted and fearful of anything that isn't old, white, and requires neither bombs or money to accomplish.
At least some people from some countries don't have to hide their identity when they travel.
Our new slogan:
Canada. People actually like us.
Unto each good man a good dog
Americans shouldn't have to hide their identity overseas. If they are treaty unfairly because of their citizenship, it is the shame of the country they are in, not of the US.
IE - You can hate the US, but venting that hatred on US expatriates shows more about you than about the US.
And Beirut, that slogan is new, written in black, and required neither bombs nor money to accomplish. I am fearful of it.
Countries like, oh, I don't know, Germany, France, the UK, or Holland, for example?Originally Posted by PanzerJager
Yes, I can see why you wouldn't want to travel to any of those hell-holes...
You've obviously never experienced how you are "embraced" when they find out you're a Canadian...Originally Posted by PanzerJager

He just needs to bring an extra pair of Levi's or with him and he'll get twice in return what that patch would get him.
When I was in Costa Rica, there was this blonde tart working in the local bakery up in the mountains. For weeks she wouldn't say two words to me. Finally, just days before I leave, she hears me talking to my buddy, her eyes go wide and she says, "Oh, usted es Canadianse!", and then she's all warm and friendly. Obviously she thought I was from elsewhere.Originally Posted by Goofball

France and Holland of course, but its almost a compliment to be hated by those people. I dont enjoy either country.Countries like, oh, I don't know, Germany, France, the UK, or Holland, for example?
Ive traveled to the UK and Germany with American friends who dont speak German and they are treated as any other tourists. At least I didnt percieve any nastyness about their nationality.
Were they wearing beige shorts, with cameras hanging around their necks and an upsidedown map?
I jest...

My mind's not working right this moment as I've been doing too much work, but are you saying that Americans are generally liked in Russia, Turkey and Iran?Originally Posted by Kaiser of Arabia

No, but better than in France and Holland. Plus Russians have cool guns.Originally Posted by Hurin_Rules

Curiouser and curiouser.
And yes, Russians do have cool guns.

It really depends on the age of the Iranian apparently. Ive heard our culture is pretty popular with the youth there.. but ive never been so..
Canadians are rather nice. Quite surprisingly actually since they are snowed in most of the year........
The cold makes a man (or woman) out of you. Your never truly tested until you've stood outside in nothing but a T-shirt and jeans in December when it's -10 C outside.
If you havin' skyrim problems I feel bad for you son.. I dodged 99 arrows but my knee took one.
VENI, VIDI, NATES CALCE CONCIDI
I came, I saw, I kicked ass
to be honest I tend to prefer Americans to Canadians. It just works out that like that before anybody takes it the wrong way.
And I love AK47s over any other gun that I shoot. Yay for the Russian firearms industry.
Canadians are exactly like Americans except for one thing, they call themselves Canadian first.
Yeah yeah yeah I'm gonna be hearing it from Beirut and others. What do I care? I'm not a typical nice Canadian.
Canadians aren't exactly like Americans:
An American hasn't ripped me off for a few thousand dollars yet.
Let's face it Canadian or American, who cares, we all know you wish you were Scottish
I think we have an official Satanist on some naval cruiser somewhere.
Anyway Americans abroad are lovely:
"You couldn't direct me to the Abbey could you?"
"Yeah sure. You see that huge Church-shaped building towering over the town? Yeah that' it."
.... I love being Scandinavian.....
Here in sweden we hardly care where your from as long as you behave yourself!
Problem is it seams like americans doesnt allways do that haha. Just yesterday a couple from Texas stole my friends seats on the Train!
You evil texas-people ! ! ! !
Actually, I think we all wish we were Irish.Originally Posted by Ja'chyra

Well, you got some ultra-left youths with too much free time that occasionally wants to discuss US foreign policy (and of course quoting biased sources, like Al-Jazeera) with any American they come across.
