    I just got this idea:

Many have complained that there are not enough clans in the Sengoku campign. The number of clans seems to be limited to 8, including the ronin.
Now we could make a 2-step campaign.

In the first phase, you play in a "1 province per clan scenario". You may use only the shimazu island, and assign each clan 1 or 2 provinces. The rest of Japan is ronin. In such a scenario you could play as a small province samurai in his struggle to become a daimyo, and unify your region, as Oda Nobunaga or Mori Motonari did in the first stage of their struggle for power.

Once you have done this, you play the big campaign with a standard clan, where you set the starting year and the facilities available according to the results of the "first" campaign.

In the reginal campaign you could playa s the regional dominant clan or as a small feudal warlord. You could have realistic campaigns on Oda Nobunaga or Mori Motonari.

Well, this is essentially how it works in the new campaigns in the expansion. Get the expansion! Worth the money.

Indeed, but in the model I propose there would be a strategy map, buildings, etc.
