    Default I know I shouldn't but ...

I almost hate to do it, any for all the moderators out there I apologise in advance. With that said, here's the deal.

I am tired of fighting armies made up completely of peasants and spearmen. I remember reading somewhere, 18 months ago, that you can adjust how the comp decides to build, expand etc. Adjustments made I hope will change how the armies are constructed.

I have tried looking for the info again because i wanted to see if it would work, but can't find anything on it. I know I probably should have put this in the mod section, but I am pretty sure the last time I was cruising the boards it wasn't the mod boards. I wasn't interested in modding back then.

Anyways, I just a few links or a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

If you have VI, I'd recommend downloading and applying the XL mod - none of the factions in it can make peasants, so the only ones in the game are those at the start.

Um...you know... Eliminating peasants is 2 clicks away...

You simply open Dragon MTW Editor(or Gnome) then at the Peasants, you erase the Fort at the column where are the buildings required to train....
    Simple....

Or alternatively change the requirement to Fortress. That would stop most in the early part of the game anyhow.

Importing the muster field from VI works quite well too. The comp will still build peasants, but they will be quite less common.

BTW does anyone know how to reduce the the comps fondness for ranged units, without putting in a big mod?
Lesser of these would improve the comp's army quite much as it cannot handle heavy ranged armies well.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

If you are playing version 2.01 then you could load Medmod 3.14. It not only removes peasants but it re-prioritizes what the AI builds so that they tend to have much stronger armies (and not archer heavy either). They also trade really well so they have money for upgrades and infrastructure. If you do load medmod, try starting some games in high or late as the AI has even better troops.

I didn't want to actually get rid of peasants, I just wanted to fight armies that had a larger variety of units.

I finally figured it out. I found a guide on adding a faction that has a blurb on faction behavior, which is what I was refering too. The guide was written by Starkhorn.

There is another sticky by Duke John about how to balance AI armies out. As soon as I figure out what he said I'll implement it. Thanks for all your help.
