    Post Deadly Eleutheroi!

    Hi guys,
This is a weird report on something very strange just happened to be in my Carthage campaign with the BI.exe and I was wondering if this strange event has even happened to you. The event was a Eleutheroi full stack of Numidians going rampage through my lands. They took four settlements, all my African ones, and, as my army had been totally destroyed in two attacks on Syracuse and Rome due to my foolishness with tactics, I was left with only my non-African settlements which were all under-seige, excluding my Sardinia and Corisica ones, with few troops inside. The Iberian ones by the Iberians and the Scilly one by the Eleutheroi of Syracuse!? After losing these settlements the Romani came to get Sardinia and Corsica with a large army of elite Cammilan infantry and I received the defeat message the same turn. What did you EB guys do to the petty little feeble slave faction of vanilla? Thanks guys! Cheers!

A scripted mercenary war event, perhaps?

I do like it when things happen as they did. Im running my Romani campaign as close to Polybius as I can. I even managed to get my Illyrian war, which wiped out the Epirots, and then Macedon attacked me, so I went on a invading spree and ended up with Pella, Demetrias, Athens, Chalkis and Korinthos. Telemon and Sparta belong to KH who remained my allies throughout. So I have a nice embeded greek kingdom. Sadly my erstwhile allies the Sweboz attacked me and the greeks chose to keep their alliance with them rather than with me...

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to have rebels actually attack cities.

The Ptolemaioi have a town about halfway between Alexandria and Kyrene, that's almost always besieged by the Eleutheroi in the first 4 turns. The garrison is meagre and it starts with no walls. Unless you take great measures from the beginning onwards to protect it, you're pretty much garantued to lose it. Wich isn't disastrous or anything, the settlement isn't exactly very valuable...

The same situation with punic Ippone. No walls, weak garrison (general+militia regiment) and a half-stack rebel army of Numidians besieging it, while the settlement is important. Later it will provide you with elephants.

Yup... had the same thing happen to me but it appears I was lucky enough to be better prepared. Numidians came swamming over my lands. I finally stopped the enslaught under the mighty walls of my capital.

I noticed something strange though. In 0.8 every rebel city kept pumping out units. By 230 the city just N-NE and the the one NE of the alps had 3 stacks each. You couldn't find a rebel city on the map without at least 1 stack. Now, in 0.81 they do nothing. No new units even if you have an army just outside the city. Was that intentional?

I've noticed this too, they very rarely train new units. I think its a good thing though, never really liked fighting full stack after full stack of lugae...
