Thread: Increasing the population

    Default Increasing the population

Hi, is it possible to increase the populations of the cities?
I think its quite unreallistic seeing cities like Rome and Antioch having a population of 30000, and I edited unit stats in RTR to use 0 turn recruit so I need those population too.

    Default Re: Increasing the population

If you mean increased population at the start, then the population is defined in descr_strat.

If you want to add more population each turn then you need to add growth bonuses (like farms) to more buildings in export_descr_buildings.

But the problem with cities reaching more than 30,000 is that squalor gets out of control and you're unable to maintain order.

Also, you have to remember that the population figure isn't how many people live there, it's how many males of military age can be called into service. There are perhaps fives time (maybe more) people actually living there than are represented in the population number.
