i`ve been messing around with the map editor which BTW is a GREAT feature!! but i have one question about it-

how do you know where the attacker and the defender will start?

i can`t seem to figure this out? i`ll create a new battle map and the attacker/defender will start in different places?

does anyone know how to adjust this? or is thier a way to predict where the att/def will start?

    Konnichiwa,

Indeed a problem. But you can easily fix it: make a Primer for future maps.

Say you want to make big maps. Create a new big map and place (1-3) tree texture(s) (id 8) along one edge (thus you've marked one edge). Start a custom battle on that map being attacker and look where the trees are.

To help yourself, you might position the trees straight behind either the attacker or the defender.

When you start making a new big map always use the BigPrimer.jjm as startingmaterial for a new map (don't forget to save the new map with a different name!).

In the demo-editor maps section, below the Tools header there's a Primer.zip for small maps. The trees are at the back of the attacker (http://www.totalwar.org/maps).

By doing so, you'll save yourself a lot of time.
