why we are not screwed because (belive it or not) i have a plan! this plan calls for alot of money. what we do is near the cities i build a army of 1,000 or more troops. Then i attack at the heart of the Faction i will win if i do that because they on;y have up to 200 men max per city!

To your first question:
I think diplomacy depends on the fraction you play. With Greece I never found a partner, with Scythia I had no problem to find one.
It may also depend on your behavior in the past. Braking treaties might reduce to get new ones.

Hi! My advice would be: if you want to play RTW with good diplomacy (you can request one faction to attack other, allies don't stab you in the back, etc.), challenging campaign and battle AI, then download DarthMod 5.0. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=71
Man, I now enjoy RTW more than when I bought the game , because now I even lose battles , AI kinda makes alliances against me, the game is VERY CHALLENGING (on H/VH), btw I downloaded CCLight Music Mod (it includes soundtracks from such masterpieces as Gladiator, Pyrates of the Caribbean, etc.), which really enhances gameplay! Now I have what to play untill RTR 6.0 comes out, yeah .
IMO DarthMod 5.0 is the best mod to date! Try it - you"ll love it!

prolly cuz your faction aint strong enough , doesnt have enough credit, cuz youre at war with their allies or you're in a war with them that youre loosing.

me too, but in MTW these battles were an challenge. i had to use all my powers to win it. in RTW its easy, i slaughter them and loose 10 men
