    Default Larger large unit sizes

    Hi,

I was thinking about making the army sizes more historically correct. Just wondering, will there be any (technical) problems if I were to make _a l l_ units size 240 persona (like peasants in vanilla RTW)?

Some further questions on this subject:

1.Will the formations still work, or will they all act more "unorderly horde" like?

2.How about bridge crossings on the battle map? Will e.g half the army drown, or will it work out fine?

3.Maneuvering in cities on the battle map? Legionairies/phalanxes stuck in the streets because of formation?

4.If you have an all-240 man army, that army will number 4,800 men. Now, if your opponent brings the same number of men to battle, the combined number of soldiers on the battle field will be 9,600 men. As far as I know, the limit for units in a battle is 10,000 men (graphics) at the same time. What will happen if there are reinforcements to either side in such a battle? Will it cause a crash, will the reinforcements be "delayed", or just not show up?

Have anyone tried this out, so that they can bring enlightenment and comfort to an amateur modder? Hope somebody are able to me out.

    Thanks in advance

Well I'm not sure, but I'll give it my best shot

    1. No, the formations should be fine. I'm pretty sure about that one.
    2. I believe that to cross a bridge or go through a gate they automatically form a column, so it shouldn't be a problem, you'll just get one long column
    3. Not sure here, they won't get stuck I don't think, but they may be a bit more difficult for the player to maneuvre
    4. There is a condition in preferences.txt called "Unlimited_men_on_battlefield" or something like that. I believe if you switch that to true, your reinforcements never get delayed. I'm afraid I don't know what the result would be. Try it

Will do Myrdraal, thanks for answering! I'm afraid I'm not confident enough in my modding yet, in order to try something out before having consulted the "seniors"

    Thanks again!
