He says that they intend to fix the load/game bug in the expo, great! That means that people won't have to keep complaining about it anymore!!!

he also says that a patch should be coming out a few weeks after the expansion. SWEET.

"Hi guys. Sorry I have not been about the last few days, but with various bits and pieces going on at the moment I have been a very busy webmonkey.
Right, to business - the load/save/siege issue.
Much as I want to say this is now sorted and carved in stone, I can't. Please remember that expansion pack is in development and there is still much going on at the moment that I can't talk about for various reasons. I am prepared to say that it is certainly our intention to address the load/save issue in the expansion pack. "And what about a patch?" I hear you ask. Again I can't say this is set in stone but we hope to bring out a patch at roughly the same time as the expansion pack (in reality it will probably be few weeks later).
That's the state of play at the moment. When I know more, I'll make sure that you know more. Again sorry for not being able state any thing 100% but this is the best I can do for now!" - The Shogun
Please note that this is not a done deal yet. I'm not saying it won't be, but we do not know for sure what will be done. When the statement is made that the fix WILL be in the expansion pack for certain, a lot of people will have cause for celebration. Let's see what develops.

Well aslong as the patch is brought out, if the issues are fixed then i will consider buying the expansion. I will not buy the expansion just to fix bugs.
Sounds nice. I can't wait for the patch...![]()
This raises another issue, the mods might have to be remade.![]()

What he said & congrats to CA for doing the right thing (assuming it actually happens)Well aslong as the patch is brought out, if the issues are fixed then i will consider buying the expansion. I will not buy the expansion just to fix bugs.![]()
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
Delenda est Carthago please check your PMs regarding the limits on image sizes in signatures. The EB team go to a lot of trouble to design a signature for you guys that actually fit the forum requirements, please use that and not their headline banner.
Just to remind everyone that the current limits are:
-10,240 bytes max.
-no sound.
-max 500 pixels wide, max 150 pixels high. This applies to all images together in the signature.

While i have always stated that i would buy the Expo as soon as it hit the shelves i feel a bit suspicious regarding the news that the patch will be out AFTER the Expo.
Thats like saying "buy our game and THEN we will fix the original"
Maybe i'm reading this incorrectly.Maybe what this means is that they will release the Expo and support IT with a patch within weeks.
Thoughts anyone?

Hopefully it would be writing extra game-state to disk on save and then using it on load. Apart from existing save-game compatability (possibly), there shouldn't be any reason for the mod itself to change.Originally Posted by mongoose
This is assuming the patch is solely fixing the load/save bug of course.
Nice, looks like they are going to do the right thing. Good to hear.
(It will be interesting to see what else they decided to address. This might be a very limited one item patch, but I would not be surprised if they fixed some other code flaws in the same go 'round.)
Rome Total War, it's not a game, it's a do-it-yourself project.
