I installed HTW after having patched MTW: VI. According to the mesage its installation finished OK. But whenever I try to use HTW the program ask me to insert the correct CD, and I don't know which one is the correct. Anyway, every time I insert the MTW or Viking Invasion CD's as platform for the former (HTW), it displays an error and shut down the program.

You have to use the VI disc.Make sure it is in your driver before starting the game.Reinstall MTW,VI,Patch and HTW as it could be you have a problem there.
It could be the MTW install that went wrong have seen this before so reinstall.
Make sure you follow the right install order:
