... Any way to fix this? I hoped that BI might fix the fragile-as-glass British generals, but they still seem to die ridiculously quick. Would adding hit points make a difference? Defence? Armour? Anything?

The problem is, that no matter how tough the general is, he still dies when the chariot crashes...
The best advice may be to leave the chariot out of the fight unless absolutely nescessary or when chasing routers. I don't know if the odds of crashing can be improved.
Nope - no sig what so ever.
The funny things is that 1.2 patch readme actually says it fixes this.![]()
BUG-FIXER, an unofficial patch for both Rome: Total War and its expansion pack
D'oh.... I don't think I noticed any improvement of this with the 1.2 patch, however... and after BI it still seems the same.
Too bad -- I'd like to, you know... use... my generals sometimes. Especially considering the havoc they can cause in an enemy line, *plus* the fact that they scare infantry. Seems like they were made to be used in battle; it's a shame I need to keep them rumbling around the flanks and never get them into a fight.
