Thread: Maximum size to the map?
Myrddraal 19:48 06-24-2005
Is it just me making an error or is there a maximum size to the campaign map. As a test, I took DJ's map template, all I did was double the width by adding to it, and it won't load, no error message, no .rmw generated...

I've had trouble with file formats in the past, so I'd like to check please. Thanks.

I don't know how big DJ's template is, but Dead Moroz reported that he'd found no upper limit to the size of the map in creating Mundus Magnus, just the upper limit where the roads stop matching up and the AI gets confused.

Hm, I'll try some more tests to see if its a format error...

OK, I now try taking the same map, and reduced it back to normal size, editing descr_terrain.txt appropriately. The map works.... I don't get it, I must have made a mistake first time around. Time to try again...

in the descr_terrain.txt in your campaign maps folder you will see a place where it says dimensions. you will need to edit this as you change map sizes

That's 24/7, not just when you do that with the map.
