i wouldn't call pulp fiction a tribute.. but tbh, pulp fiction was by far his best movie (it's one of the greatest movies of the 90s) and i'm not super excited by the rest of his work (though i need to watch reservoir dogs again).

as far as kevin smith goes.. i don't really get it. clerks was the only really good movie he's done. dogma was OK, but nothing special (maybe i need to be a catholic to really appreciate it). mallrats was.. not great.. and neither was jay and silent bob strike back. both were occasionally funny, but neither are even especially good comedies. chasing amy was OK also, probably better than dogma, but nothing outstanding. never saw jersey girl.


and all of that is imo, of course.
