Just been looking at the pyramids and the sphinx. My whole family is addicted! Looking for the great wall of China now, but it seems a bit harder to spot than the pyramids

Northeast of Los Angeles there is an airbase where you can see some military planes(B-1, B-52, F-14 and others) and helicopters, but what I´m curious about are some strange "drawings" in the desert next to the airbase. At 34° 57' N 117° 52' W there is a huge circle showing some degree numbers and close to it there are lines in the sand that look like runways, rather huge runways compared to the other runways of the airbase. Are these planned runways and what do they need the circle for?
