Thread: Heirs - Or Lack of Them

Ok so I have been playing the game for a month and learning the tricks of the game slowly, but one thing I haven't been able to figure out is the curse that has plagued me twice - my King's inability to produce an heir!!

Is this a totally random act? I assume so. Is there a strategy for ensuring the continuation of my family - cheat or other?

The absolute worst thing was when my game ended as my empire was dissolved without an heir....

Yeah...There is...

.unfreeze. - it gives you a heir.... But you still have to wait 16 years for him to mature......

I find my kings often have no heirs until they're old and grey, and then suddenly they get a burst of energy and mate like rabbits and have lots of young heirs just before they die out. But at least the next King is often young when he takes control of the empire and stuffs it up and loses everything.

I've only had this happen once, I went through five brothers and they all had daughters.

Bad genes.

If you don't like cheating, just try and start a civil war / rebellion.

the unfreeze thing is the only cheat I approve of. I hate that. All that careful breeding, and marrying and stuff and your nice 30 year old king decides not to boink his carefully chosen, genetically mixed, 18 year old hottie you just procured for him. I swear there is a hidden vice that never even comes up on the screen. It is: "In the closet".

Oh and whats worse is the I'm gonna wait til i'm 50 before I pop out 1 measley heir, but don't worry i'm gonna die the year before he comes of age.
