The "Continue Playing" button was added in the v1.2 patch after popular demand. If you don't have that patch then you can Quicksave during the victory video and then reload it to keep on playing.

You can change the start and end date of the campaign in the descr_strat file, near the top you'll find the following lines:
    Code:
    start_date	-270 summer
    end_date	14 summer

My longest campaign was too 66 BC I think.
I have conquered something like 97 regions and still have a few left to conquer; but it`s so boring that that will prolly never happen.

95AD for me!!! I guess that I am the winner!
I was playing as Carthaginians encountering two strong enemys, egyptians and scipii. In the game I made some serious tactical mistakes and had many problems with citys revolt (playing 1.0) plus some technical problems with serious lags in sieges which I lost many of them!
I became stubborn and finished the campaign rather than give up!

Well, thanks for all this input - its certainly answered my questions! I'm still only on my first campaign anyways and now have the entire Summer (when I'm home in a couple of weeks) to conquer, rape and pillage (in the game, of course)!!!

The only campaign i've finished as been with the Scipii. It ended in 126BC or so with my heir marching into plague-stricken Rome with a full stack of Gladiators under the guise of establishing order. ;) My faction leader would have done it, but he was busy conquering Parthia and Armenia.

The RTW game is great example how game dynamics doesn't follow turn limits.

Most campaigns are done in 3-digit BC, often before 150BC.
And that's just half of the turns in the game.

Like it's balanced for one turn per year then two turns per year.

    P.S.
Probably the reason why BI will have much lower turn limit.
