wonder why...
For what? I've probably butted heads with him as much as anyone and if anything, I thought he had gotten to be more considerate in the past few days.
It was almost as though his comments that murdering children might be fun and we shouldn't judge the perpetrators as evil purged the last of the bile from his system. We still probably wouldn't see eye to eye in 99% of the issues out there, but the eye-poking direct antagonism he's famous for was starting to take a more respectful tone.

Wow what did he do this time? His posts seemed a bit more reasoned lately and his thread on peeps pics is quite enjoyable even if me and Don did hi jack it in a slightly different direction.

What could he have possibly done that actually outshined his past foolishness enough to actually ban him permanently this time?
Who does the org plan on replacing BP with for all my questions on Albanian Blood Feuds now? Hm?
The poor boy, having to live without the .Org... unable to post and unable to read the backroom... A minute's silence, please... oh, wait, Byzantine Prince was banned? I must have misread, that's fine then...
I don't think that I have scuffled with him *ponders over time here* hmm... what ashame, I always wanted to do that...

no not exactly. but what did he do. dont get me wrong, he was pretty funny, but also very mean

I'm not surprised....he seemed to moderate (sic) his posts ....but every now and then, he would let himself down.
A full life ban does seem a bit draconian....perhaps a period of reflection and another extended period of re-habilitation......just to keep an eye on him...
Now I shall shut my mouth becadse I have no idea why this occured....
knowing this lot (ORG STAFF ) it must have been serious..
I say set Krast on him...and may GOd have mercy on his Soul
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

Yeah, if the mods (Kukri, Pape or Ser C) banned him from life, it must have been big. My inquiry was more related to curiousity and the fact that I'm a terrible gossip than questioning their judgement.

just curious, what does a banning entail? can the banned still log in, but not post anywhere, or are they banned from logging in? will the account be deleted at some point?
now i'm here, and history is vindicated.
Ya pays yer dime - ya takes yer chances.
I'm curious as to what he did but, alas, I'm sad to say I probably won't miss him. Just too negative for the sake of being negative.

All depends on what constraints the adminstrator places on your account. There is a topic in the Watchtower where it seems Tosa has the ability to ban you completely from the site. There is also the Banning that happened to DD - where he could post everywhere but the Tavern - and I believe it was limited down to just the back room.
I don't know about the delete part though.
Having been warned and sanctioned by the moderators several times myself - it takes a lot to get yourself banned from from any particlur area and even more to get banned from the .org completely.
Us habitual offenders always need to beware of going to far - at least for a month or two after our previous sanction.
Obviousily BP ran afoul again and the moderators felt it was necessary to take an even futher and more severe action.
O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean

I think this thread belongs in the Watchtower.
From my point of view, a permanent ban should be reserved for the most foul offenses--threatening members, attempting to sabotage the board or raid the database for information, etc. I can see banning for a long time (a month, a quarter, even a year for gross and ongoing behavioral offenses), but permanent banning just seems ... weak to me. However, given my perceptions of the ultimate power here, based on a long period of acute observation both here and elsewhere, the use of this "Draconian" (good word, btw) approach does not surprise me. Ultimately, this is a "benevolent dictatorship," and not a democracy by any means.
BP could be crass, snide, undisciplined and very offensive--not uncommon in young men of his age and circumstance. But he also added flavor and drama to the mix here, albeit quite sour and noir oftentimes. Most young men change as they experience more life and interact with other people. If all the "mature" and "enlightened" people shunned and banished those who were not ... well, it's not hard to understand what I'm getting at.
I will miss his presence, and if the rumor of a permanent ban is true, my opinion of this board just took a big step down. My tuppence worth.

edyzmedieval, this probably should have gone in the watchtower, or in pm to a mod.
Personally, I think BP will be back.
BP: "All be back."
It might have something to do with the confession of a mad man topic. He was rather rude in there.Originally Posted by edyzmedieval

Unfortunately, I am not sure the mods available to post right now know much more about this than anyone else here. When we do find out, I am sure an explanation will be given. It might be an idea if people hold fire until TosaInu or someone else in the know is available to reply to this thread.
I don't want to stirr the flames I've just tried to quench. However, I feel compelled to say that from a personal point of view, I found BP's first post in the confessions of a mad man thread in the Frontroom to be appalling. And it was in marked contrast to the many fine, warm-hearted and uplifting contributions made by other posters in that thread.
Simon i agree with you, but he did later appologize for it.
You better watch the title of this thread. Calling for a revolt could cause a lifetme ban.
