I've never seen a less enthusiastic, less motionless crowd, ever. 200,000 people at Hyde park, and barely a head bob between them. The Who and Pink Floyd, ending a show mostly watched by youngsters. Forty minutes earlier, the entire place was going mental for Robbie Williams and his crowd pleasing antics, and now it's miserable. Paul McCartney has yet to return either. Sheesh. The Old boys network ending the show. They'll need to do some serious editing on the DVD to make it not look like the entire crowd was static for most of the show. Pink Floyd might be able to string together a fairly decent tune, but you want a real show stopper for the end acts, something that gets the entire crowd buzzing with endless enthusiasm. Pink Floyd certainly aren't that.

Frankly, you're nuts. The only real music are the old folks. Almost all new bands suck. And the crowd are the stupid ones, not the musicians. It's there fault for not liking good music, not the musicians.

they could have finished with sting....at least the crowd was more reactive to him.......playing "driven to tears" was a nice touch

IMO the best today were Stereophonics( My fav song Local Boy in the Photograph was played which was great to see), Scissors sisiters and especially Velvet Revolver were great. U2 were ok. The Who were was also cool and although i hate coldplay with a passion them and old richie ashcroft did well with BitterSweet Symphony.

This is going to annoy the hell out of a few members( sorry BKS ) but i had to switch off Pink Floyd as i nearly slipped into a coma watching them

Real music? Only the 'old folks' are real musicians? What kind of narrowminded nonsense is that? There's good music from all generations, depends if your ear is open to listening to it.

Anyway, I didn't see Beethoven and Mozart there, which is a shame, I'm sure they'd have gone down a storm.

Those modern acts like The Who and Pink Floyd are obviously RUBBISH in comparison to the old masters.

WTF Im watching Floyd now and in the middle of comfortably numb they have some a holes talking about them thakfully they shiut up as the solo began but then went to commercial b4 thatwas even finished GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

And BKB I can see why they call you the blind King as you must have been watching a differnt concert than I was. The solo on numb was the highlight of the whole thing and still the most stiring guitar solo of alltime. I cant believe they ruined it.

Heh, i don't really care what the crowd were doing, to be honest. That was completely and utterly mindblowing. Man, i thought i'd never see this happen. If i'd been there, i'm sure i would've cried.*Prays for a tour*

And if i were there, i wouldn't be moving at all. Just like i was doing while watching on tv. I'd just be listening.

That's really awful, man. However, i'm confident this'll be on the internet in a few hours, so you'll get to enjoy it whenever you want.

Sorry mates i may have lost the eyesight but the hearings still there and my ears didn't like what they heard.

If i didn't flick the channel i would have slept through it. I would rather have watched Fat Boy Elton John doing another few songs and thats saying something

My ears are as open as they're going. And I like a few new bands. But music today isn't good. There are a few great bands, but other than that, nothing.

Well the 15 minutes that Pink Floyd got were great. I'm still in a state of total ecstasy after listening to them.
I'm just sad about the fact that I missed Richard Ashcroft. :(

Absolutely right, cutting to two idiots wh were talking about how historic it is to see Floyd reunited IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GUITAR SOLO

    now I'm angry

I frequently am gone for weeks at a time, when I work long hours and sleep on the ground. Each time when the fire is out and I come in my house I always think . .

home, home again, its good to be here when I can . . .

The Floyd set was fantastic (except for the stoopid people talking over it) . God how I wish they had toured and kept cutting albums.

It just isn't worth rising to the insults and purile ramblings of those who have yet to learn. Gawain, I feel sooo sorry for you, we didn't get that here just awesome, awesome Floyd. I never thought I would see Waters back alongside with the others. Moved to tears here

Well Im going to have to change my opinion on the hilight of the concert. Floyd was great but Sir Paul Mc Cartney brought down the house. Even with only one member represented the Beatles music still lives on and surpassed anything else there. His band must consider itself the luckiest musicians on the face of the earth. This guy is the most respected man in music IMO. In fact he maybe the most beloved man on the planet.

    Cygnus X-1, don't worry, I feel the same way, I'm 17.

Oh, David Gillmore is on Q 104.3 doing an interview... Gawain, you'd probably be able to get the station, if you're near enough to NYC...

I have to agree there mate, old Paul and U2 did a great bash at Sergeant Peppers and his set so far has been great. The long and winding road is in full swing and is very, very good

It's horses for courses, as far as I can see. No doubting those bands that ended the show can play, and if you like their stuff, hell you in where in for a treat - they really gave it some.

But it's disappointing to see a lack of enthusiasm from the audience, who obviously on the whole, get excited by other music, so perhaps weren't catered for in the best overall way. Another example is when Velvet Revolver (who I've never really been into or cared about), played an extremely energetic and rocking set, but received very little reaction from the audience, the entire event seemed flat. When you usually see large rock concerts and festivals, the crowd is electric throughout. Of course, not allowing booze might have been a factor, as well as the mix of people who came to the show (there for the event probably as much, if not more than just the music). I'm sure the event has been a great success anyway.

    As I said, it's the fan's fault....

Who's on Q104.3, sound's really good. This beats TV, since there's no commercials.

Despite Sir Paul's electrifying performance I think that Pink Floyd was the highlight...well the big coup anyways

Yeah! They were just standing still.

That was awesome, Pink Floyd, McCartney and the Who kicked everyone else's arses. They should have cancelled the rest of the acts and just had them.

I was afraid The Who weren't going to do Won't Get Fooled...But they did! Wooo! The Floyd! Wooo! Seeing Waters with the others was incredible, and the group hug at the end was one of the most wonderful things I've seen for a long time.

I'm just very excited right now, really...

    You can say that again.

As far as being a coup Floyd was definetly it and they were great to see together again after all these years.Waters looked real happy to be there. But again theres something intangible about te Beatles music. After all these years its as freash as it was when it was written . And Again people tend to adore Mc Cartney . Hes still got that choir boy look in his 60s.

McCartney is cool, but I prefer Lennon and Harrison. I just like their music and feel better. Though he has some kick ass songs, however. After all, he is a Beatle.
