If anyone is interested in receiving a copy of my log reader, please post your email here, or have somebody at the Org request a copy to publish on their site for download.

If you lack the system dependancies, expect an 11 MB whopper of a ZIP. Otherwise, you can get a 3KB Zip with just the EXE and readme.

I heard Vanya's reader is really cool with all those stats and stuff. I want it!

Vanya, can you upload it to any personal site? You know that 11 megs are quite uneasy to get through email...especially with a modem ridden guy like me.

If you want you could email Tosa, he has cable I believe and he could receive it quickly. If any of our Org staff has it, we could upload it to the org and be available for everybody you know...

    Konnichiwa,

The UploadTool can only handle 5 mb files. Could you please make smaller files with winzip (spanned archive)? I'll 'glue' and post them.

No problem... I can package it into CAB files that fit on 1.44 disks... so you'd just get about 8 of them or so...

I can do that if youz want...

But, do you have a space limitation at the Org? IE, will 11 MB be too big a piece of the pie?

    We have unlimited space, Vanya.

The smaller the package is, the better, just because of the upload limit.

    Konnichiwa,

Perhaps 'multiple' smaller files will be a good idea for users with slower modems. I would like the actual program in 1 zip, and the optional files in 2 or more zips (a 4-5 mb download is acceptable for slow connections). The UploadTool itself can handle 5 mb at a time.

In the misc files section are files of about 28 mb, so I wouldn't worry about size too much.

I tried to upload it, but I kept getting an unknown error message from your site when it looked like the upload was complete...

The EXE/Readme alone did make it through OK, though. The package (3 files about 4 MB each) all did not make it.

    EXE/Readme only: stwlr203.zip
    Package: stw203_part1.zip, stw203_part2.zip, stw203_part3.zip

Tell me if any of those actually did make it through...

I can email them to you if you want...

    Konnichiwa Vanya san,

I found the exe, thanks. About those other files: I think it's due to the names. Try to use normal letters and digits, don't use underscores, or other special keys.

I took the underscores out, and still can't upload these things... they are all zips and have no 'special characters' in the names...

    *sigh*

I guess it wasn't meant to be :O

I dont think San has the latest version...

I can email it to you (Tosa?) and you can post it...

Hmmm... or I can email it to myself! And upload it from work! Maybe that will suffice... will give it a try and tell ya if it worked... Unless youz want me to just email it to Tosa so he can post it himself... (Email in pieces or in one piece?)

Oh, and FYI: Vanya lacks ICQ... has AIM, but never uses and forgot password *and* ID... Vanya finds such toys "cute" but inconvenient...

    Konnichiwa Vanya san,

I really don't know why the UpLoadTool doesn't work for those files. Perhaps it doesn't work very well for big files. I tried to Upload a 4.7 mb zip file and it didn't work either. I'll ask about it.

Mail. I doubt my mailbox will eat anything bigger than 1 mb. I just succesfully uploaded a 1.36 mb file with the Tool.

Please try again by using 1-1.3 mb zip files.

    ALLLLLLRIGHTY THEN!

    IT WORKED! FINALLY!

I uploaded all the files for y'all!

    Tosa: they are:
    prjSTW1_CAB1Plus.zip
    prjSTW2.zip
    prjSTW3.zip
    ...
    prjSTW9.zip

All are about 1.3 MB in size. Just unzip all of 'em into a single folder, and run Setup.exe!

If you encounter any problems with the installation or usage, or just dont know what to do and have questions on its use that are not answered in the readme PDF, ask somewhere in this Mods forum and I will try to address it or give you some kind of answer. (And NO -- don't ask me for the source code... )

Lastly, as beta 1.01 came out after this was packaged, you might have to change the koku values for the units if you give a rats arse about using the new costs instead of the old ones. If you want to do this, ask if you need directions and I will gladly tell you or send you an updated readme PDF. (To computer-literate folks, the answer might seem easy to this... but I understand not everybody shares my insights into my lunacy...)

(BTW, the readme only answers minute questions, really... I'm not much for 'documentation'... after all, I have no head!)

HAVE FUN WITH THIS TOOL! I DO!

(And any feedback is appreciated... )

    Konnichiwa Vanya san,

I found the files, thank you very much.

I've installed it twice (after the shutdown of all programs) but it fails to register msado21.tlb, also after a restart.

    It still seems to work.

It's posted now in the Tools/Mods/Faq section.

If you have problems with that file, you can download MDAC (aka ADO) from the microsoft site and install it separately:
    http://www.microsoft.com/ado

The version required by this app is 2.1. But you can download any of the higher versions if you like. Just be aware that versions 2.5 and higher have separated MS Jet from the MDAC stack, so you will need to download Jet separately if you do so. This is not the case with 2.1 as 2.1 has Jet included.

Perhaps you have a higher version of ADO than that shipped with the app...

    Hi TosaInu,

May I suggest that the EXE for Vanya's log reader be posted as a separate download?

Currently there are 3 ZIP files, containing the setup files, CABs 1 and CABs 2. I have downloaded all three (11MB+) but found that I actually only needed to download the EXE (600KB+), which is in CAB1, because I already have all the other files on my PC.

I think posting the EXE separately will save other players some downloading pains, especially if they're like me, using a slow dial-up modem.

    Konnichiwa,

    I've made 3 files:

    -install_readme.txt, stw_readme.pdf, setup.1st and setup.exe.

    -Cab1-Cab5

    -Cab6-Cab9

I figured the same thing, but 'overlooked' that Cab1 also contains a required Exe.

Thank you very much for telling me.

Vanya, is the Exe in Cab1 only required to setup the various dependency files? Is it required if one already has the dependencies installed?

Pretty much... otherwise you could just place the app EXE onto your HD somewhere and give it a spin. Running the setup.exe will also put the application EXE into the designated folder for you, of course.

The dependancies are listed in the readme. So if you have all of them, then you probably don't need to run the setup and can just go with copying the app exe onto your disk. However, there are VB dependancies to consider as well. If you go the app exe only route and have problems, then perhaps you are missing a VB dependancy and should try to run the setup to see if the problem goes away.

Future versions will have some of these dependancies removed given some upgrades I did recently... but unfortunately, I preffer playing the game more so than updating my reader for the most part... hehe

BTW, you do have the application EXE and readme PDF only in a separate ZIP I had downloaded earlier...

Uh... When you unzip all the files, do you have NINE (9) cab files? If #6 is missing, that is the problem... I know TosaInu-san regrouped these once he got them off the upload location, as I had to upload them individually. If Cab #6 is missing, then we need to have Tosa add it to the downloadable ZIP if he still has the originals or I will have to upload #6 again so he can add it to an existing zip or add a new one.

    LOL

    Konnichiwa Shoko san,

As Vanya's san honorable program is quite large, I made smaller files.

VanyaLog1.zip contains cab 1-5 and the setup
    VanyaLog2.zip contains cab 6-9
VanyaLogExe contains the exe and the readme in case you already have all required dependencies.

    Please download all 3 files.
