There's a file that describes the factions (can't remember the exact name, sorry) and includes a cultural reference to the faction portraits. As I'm using a Ptolemaic army for Egypt, I just changed the portrait culture from Egyptian to Greek, and all my family members and agents now have Greek portraits. I hope someone finds this useful - sometimes even I don't know what I'm trying to say!
