Bah, screw the copyright issues; you, sir, are leading to increased Osprey revenues

Of course history is not copyrighted, but the paintings you are posting are. By posting these images on the internet, some people might not buy the books, and Osprey Publishing won't be too happy with that.
Well, generally, these interpretations of history ARE copyrighted, both by the artist in question as by Osprey, IIRC. If you decide to take this and translate it perfectly into the mod, and Osprey might see that, I'd think you'd have a problem. The same goes for what DJ has said.
Also, take into account that Osprey artists take history with a grain of salt. I would advise you to use these as inspiration, and the historical evidence as source material. Just as a member of another mod team
I do not know how Osprey is towards copyright infringencies; but, if they are anything like George Lucas -- if they see this, you do have a problem. Luckily, most people aren't like ol' Lucas.

I wouldn't manage to copy it if I tried. For me it's almost always just inspiration when skinning/modelling. I agree these are interpretations and should be artistic copyrighted, but on the other side you can't blame a unit for being ripped of for having a yellow shirt and some brown panties. That is what I believe could be "copied". But if more skilled than me, it guess it could be done more exact off the pictures. Anyway I really don't care if we keep them here or not. If it's a problem we should remove them.Originally Posted by The Wizard
I usual post links to sites that seems to have them legally, and I know for a fact that it's allowed. But with these I don't know, I guess they're not, but at the same time no big deal.
I think Linden Artists own most of Angus McBride's works. Don't know about the other artists. I doubt they care. I've posted many Osprey pics in the Osprey thread, and the works are often intended for gamers to paint their figures with and what not, so I'm sure if they did find out they'd be fine about it.
