it will be released fall this year, just before christmas probably.

And there are screenshots of BI, check their official site.
Don't recall any of them featuring a campaign map though

There are a couple of screenshots of the campaign map along with others from the E3 demo here. Enjoy!

BI is released August/September by the way, not sure since they change that date every time we hear some news about it

8k in debt is nothing. Also it's an E3 screenshot, so if 20 people were mousing around the game each turn theres going to be problems. Also playing some factions on very hard campaign dif can make a very bad starting economy especially if it's a mod.

Is it just me, or does the map in that preview appear to have fewer provinces than in RTW?

Yeah, the map didn't seem to have as much detail. If it fixes the AI AND those changes are retroactive, meaning they work in original RTW, it will all be worth it.

    Umm...
    This is a "expansion pack".
    Not a "Total overhaul".
Was there a fundamental change in Mongol Invasion? No was there in Viking Invasion? No.
So why are you expecting something totally diffarent?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if you look closely, the map is the same size as the current one.

I am still going to play the Romans sometimes in Barbarian Invasion, I always like Aetius.

I wonder if you get to apoint members of your family to the senate.

Obviously I will play as the new factions to, especially as the franks, vive la france, once I kill off all those pesky romanized gauls, romans, and vistogoths.

We're talking about the number of provinces. It seems like there are more big provinces instead of lots of small ones. Expansion packs are usually made to add something to the game not reduce the current length of it. Like I said before though, I just want the AI fixed.

You know in 364 AD the Roman empire was only about 13 "provinces" (well by that time they had been changed to diocese). This is one time you should be glad CA isn't being historically accurate. Below territorial divisions of the Roman empire in 330 AD under Constantine I. These apllied until the western empire collapesed in 476 AD.

CA has instead chosen to make provinces based on these bounderies.

There are not nearly enough provinces in RTW as it is.

Well ok, I think it's fine to have less provinces but each province should have more cities to take over in order to control the whole province. This would be more realistic and still have the length of the original.

Hey, has anyone seen the screenshots on the SEGA-site?
    http://www.sega-europe.com/en/media_...ots___2944.htm
As you can see on pic nr. 9, there seems to be a city with a river next to it! I've never seen that before...would be a nice addition, I think. Also, who are the strange dudes on pic 11?

    Thanks alot

Those dudes on pic 11 are the battlepriests I think. They might look scary but if I don`t remember wrong they had the same stats as peasants.

    Nice catch Brutus

That is definately a new style of battle and perhaps you are allowed to try to ward off a siege on the first turn and if you succeed your city is free and if you fail you are then besieged.

Could a add some tactics to the game as in wich direction you besiege the city from as a direct route could lead to suicide

What irritates me is that CTW (a mod) played so much better in mp than RTW vanilla. If a bunch of guys in their spare time can do that well, so can CA.

While those screenshots look very nice, I'm sure that with the possible exception of #9 those are all from cutscenes rather than game play. I never understood the emphasis on good graphics in cutscenes rather than in the actual game itself, but I suppose it helps for the publicity shots.
