The constitution, as it stands, is dead. I don't think that the referenda were legally binding, but I think that both the governments have said that they will not go against the will of their people. It would be polictical impossible for Chirac to say that France is going to ratify the constitution despite the referendum.Originally Posted by Taffy_is_a_Taff

indeed it is dead I thik all of the leaders must see that and all know that they can start over again. But in the other hand I think it will fail again unless everybody is well informed and if they wouldn't vote against their government. And I think it's dead without it should be. perhaps a few changes but I don't think it was that bad at all...
