How much does it cost to repair? I though it pretty good but that was years ago. Although I did think that the micomanaging of cities was undesireable.

I really enjoyed CTP1, before TW came out, then I switched never went back.

I hated it. The lawyers and spies just made the game not fun in the end. Much better off with Civ 2 or Civ 3.

I really liked some aspects of it but loathed others.
I think I only played one campaign and have occasionally toyed with the idea of giving it another go but not gotten anywhere.

The Good & unmatched to date:
    Underwater cities
    Space cities
    Underwater high speed transport
Tech tree that got well into modern and alternative forms of warfare

    The bad:
Somehow it was tedious to manage
Tech tree including some very annoying/dishonourable alternative forms of warfare
    Weird interface
    no city view
No huge realtime tactical 3d battles
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...
