Uploading

I have read ur instructions but as I am a bit of a buffoon I do not understand. It was late last night but I could only upload a read me type file of my map..

please help out this dimwit..

hi boro,

go to the main page of the .org. pick the maps/mods/files link. from there pick the 'upload tool' link. where it says 'browse' click on it and that shld open an explorer like index of your drive. follow that to wherever your file is on your harddrive and click on it. this will put the file into the little item window/file box. then click the upload button. it shld then upload as long as the file isnt more than the stated max size. it WON'T show you it's uploading while it's uploading, but you shld be able to see your harddrive light blinking and when the file is uploaded it shld give you a little message that it is done and show you the file now in the uploaded list of files.

bear in mind that these files are NOT posted instantly. tosa will review whatever file is put up and check it for viruses and then, if it's .org material he'll post it wherever it belongs.

there is also an instant posting upload tool further down the page from the main upload tool. i think it's called 'test upload tool', or something like that. just click on it and it takes you to a similar upload tool where, after it uploads whatever file it does post it instantly on a separate page. this is folks can post files they wish to swap with others, like test maps, stat tests and so on. nobody checks these for viruses or anything else, so download these at your own risk.

How long does it normaly takes for a map to be displayed????

Cus I uploaded one 2 1/2 month ago and it is still not there.

After it is uploaded, somoene got to edit xedit.shtml to include the new map...after it is checked for viruses and stuff....
